Fire Watch/Laborer

Position:                             Fire Watch/Laborer

Reports to:                         Production Area Supervisor



  • Follow all PSI rules and regulations

  • Willingness to perform job functions

  • Frequently cleans and maintains shop area

  • Occasionally performs minor ship preparation such as grinding

  • Occasionally removes and redresses lugs and pad eyes

  • Install handrails and remove handrails per shipyard regulations and requirements

  • Occasionally sweeps, paints, accumulates skids, parts…

  • Frequently keeps work area organized

  • Work as a fire watch when required and while hot work is being performed

  • Work as a hole watch when required

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required

  • Knowledge of Metrics is preferred

  • Environmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include; noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fume and smoke. Work may be carried out indoors or outdoors, and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions.

HOURLY RATE:  $14.00 per hour
