WHO WE ARE

SUSTAINABILITY/ESG PROGRAM

Overview

We know that our stakeholders have increasingly high expectations for the marine transportation sector, including shipyards.

Philly Shipyard is committed to operating sustainably and responsibly. Our CORE Values describe our commitment to working safely, acting as environmental stewards, creating an inclusive work environment, and ensuring our communities succeed.

In developing our program for sustainability and environment, social, governance (ESG), we mapped our operations to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and conducted a stakeholder analysis and materiality analysis.

Based on these insights, we identified a number of material topics where we can focus our actions, as well as ways we can directly contribute to a more sustainable world.  For more information, we invite you to read our 2023 ESG Statement.

Sustainable Ships for the Future

As Philly Shipyard collaborates with ship owners and designers, we embrace the opportunity to build ships that meet evolving needs for sustainable designs and green ship technology.

We have expanded our capabilities and know-how in technologies that reduce ship emissions such as cleaner-running engines, alternative fuels like LNG, battery storage, shaft generators, twisted rudders, and more.

Philly Shipyard is currently contracted to build LNG-powered containerships as well as a Subsea Rock Installation Vessel that will support the installation of offshore wind farms.
